Hiru TV: Most Popular Television Channel of the Year at GBE Awards 2026

Hiru TV has received Most Popular Television Channel of the Year at the Global Business Excellence Awards 2026. Organised by London Business Consultancy, London, UK, the awards recognise businesses, professionals and creative work across a broad range of fields. For Hiru TV, the 2026 recognition places the spotlight on television broadcasting.

A channel with several viewing worlds

Hiru TV launched in May 2012 as part of Asia Broadcasting Corporation. Its public programme offering includes news, teledramas, entertainment and reality television. The channel is therefore encountered through different viewing interests, from a scheduled news bulletin to an ongoing drama or a weekend show.

Most Popular Television Channel of the Year recognises the channel as a whole. That is different from an award for one programme, presenter or performance. A channel identity is built across a schedule, with viewers moving between different kinds of content under the same broadcast name.

Television across the schedule

The channel category brings attention to the organisation of a viewing experience over time. A drama invites people to return to a story, while a news programme serves a different purpose. Hiru TV's range provides a concrete context for understanding a channel-level recognition rather than reducing the award to a single format.

At the Global Business Excellence Awards 2026, Hiru TV receives a milestone under Most Popular Television Channel of the Year. The accolade gives the broadcaster a place in the year's media recognitions and celebrates a category shaped by the relationship between a channel and its viewers. It brings the overall television identity into focus alongside the individual programmes and personalities represented elsewhere in the awards.
