Mr. Sripal Wanniarachchi: Excellence in Investigative Journalism & The Unshakable Media Personality at GBE Awards 2026

Mr. Sripal Wanniarachchi (News First - Sirasa TV) has received Excellence in Investigative Journalism & The Unshakable Media Personality at the Global Business Excellence Awards 2026. Organised by London Business Consultancy, London, UK, the awards recognise businesses, professionals and creative work across a broad range of fields. For Mr. Sripal Wanniarachchi, the 2026 recognition places the spotlight on investigative journalism.

An individual journalism recognition

Sripal Wanniarachchi is a News First journalist identified in the organisation's own published reporting. His 2026 GBE title is Excellence in Investigative Journalism & The Unshakable Media Personality, with News First - Sirasa TV named in the recipient entry. The award combines a journalism field with an individual media recognition.

Investigative journalism is concerned with questions that can require more than a single statement or immediate event report. Documents, accounts and the relationship between pieces of information become part of the professional setting. The public-facing report is the point at which that work has to become understandable to an audience.

The person within a reporting profession

An individual media award brings the journalist's professional identity into focus without reducing the work to a presenter image alone. The field involves both enquiry and communication, connecting the questions being pursued with the audience that eventually encounters the story.

At the Global Business Excellence Awards 2026, Mr. Sripal Wanniarachchi receives a distinct milestone under the full investigative-journalism and media-personality title. The accolade celebrates the named recipient in connection with News First - Sirasa TV and gives journalism a clear place among the year's professional and creative honours. It highlights a media role in which the process behind a report and the clarity of its public presentation are closely related.
